I am having difficulty with a burned AHT CD. I downloaded it from the site you recommended:
http://www.info.apple.com/support/aht.html which downloaded as a 693-3994-A.dmg. I then burned this to the CD; while it shows up in Disk Utility and can be Verified it does not show up in System Pref/ Startup Disk in order for me to boot it up to use.
I have also burned a CD from the Volume icon that appears when I clicked on the .dmg but also the same results; doesn't show up to reboot on.
I have tried both holding down the 'c' key as suggested in the AHT Read Me(which is the only thing that opens when I click on the Volume icon)and also the 'd' key but with no results. I hold it down until the Mac OS X loads and then my Admin password box comes up. When I enter my password the computer starts up in its normal mode-not the AHT screen.
What am I doing wrong in not being able to get this AHT CD to work ?
